Polido vs Apple Writing Tools
Polido vs Apple Writing Tools: one keystroke, any language, tuned for the app
Apple Writing Tools is free and built into macOS: control-click, choose Writing Tools, and rewrite as Friendly, Professional or Concise. Polido starts where that stops. A double-tap rewrites in place, it knows whether you are writing an AI prompt, a Slack message or an email, it learns how you write, and it works in 30+ languages on Mac and Windows.
Then type anywhere and double-tap right ⌘
Free: 100 rewrites in your first two weeks, then 20 a month. Pro is $10 a month for 500 ($8 billed annually).

Choose Apple Writing Tools if
An occasional tone change is enough, you only use Apple devices, and free matters most.
Choose Polido if
You rewrite many times a day, write AI prompts, want it to sound like you, or work on Windows too.
Questions
- Does Polido replace Apple Writing Tools?
- It covers the same rewrite job with one keystroke instead of a menu, plus AI prompts, your own voice and more languages. You can keep both.
- Does Polido need Apple Intelligence?
- No. It runs on Mac and Windows without it.
- Will it rewrite only what I selected?
- Yes. Select text and only that part is rewritten; the rest of the field is left exactly as it was.
