Polido at work
Last updated 21 October 2026
If your company manages your computer, its security software may stop Polido the first time it sees a new version. This page is for whoever looks after those settings. Send them the link: polido.app/work.
Allow the publisher, not the file
Every program and library Polido ships on Windows is signed by Volt Games Lda, the company that makes Polido, through Microsoft’s Artifact Signing. Tools that block programs they have not seen before (WatchGuard WES 360 / Panda Adaptive Defense, Microsoft Defender application control, AppLocker and similar) usually allow a file by its hash. Polido updates often, and each update is new files, so a hash rule needs redoing every time. A rule that trusts the publisher keeps working:
- WatchGuard WES 360: add Volt Games Lda to the allowed programs by its certificate.
- AppLocker or App Control for Business: a publisher rule for Volt Games Lda, any product, any version.
- Other tools: allow by the code-signing certificate's subject, Volt Games Lda.
Without a rule, these tools usually clear a new file on their own within a few minutes. The Polido installer waits and tries again by itself while that happens, and an update that is held opens once it is cleared.
What gets installed
- Windows: per user, with no admin prompt, into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Polido. Polido.exe starts the app in its Files folder.
- Mac: Polido.app in Applications, signed and notarised by Apple.
- It updates itself, from the same addresses below.
What it connects to
- polido.app, for downloads and update checks.
- api.polido.app, for rewrites and the account. Text is sent only when someone asks for a rewrite.
How text is handled is in the privacy policy.
Rolling it out
- PolidoInstaller.exe --silent downloads the current version, checks its hash and signature, and installs it with no window.
- Or run the full installer with: Polido-Setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART
- Team plans are billed per seat; see pricing.
